World cancer day - Story of a Nurse Survivor!

Cancer !!! When you hear the word cancer it is like a bomb blast in your mind, a broken heavy heart and a shock not only for the patient , in the family and everywhere….. A person who fights with it , being positive and coming back to the life is the precious moments for their friends and family, but what is next ? That question will always follow them ….

Today is #WorldCancerDay . World Cancer Day is an international day marked on February 4th to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment

When sharing avcancer journey, it resonate with strength, resilience, hope, and the power of positivity and support 🙏🙏🙏 Here I am sharing the journey of my hero, role model, inspiration etc etc 💓💓💓💓

A dedicated, hardworking sincere and kind hearted nurse who always been loved and respected by her colleagues. She is a real angel for her patients and most lovable person in the family who filled with care and compassion, devoted to the nursing profession who is showing up and dressed up and continuing in her profession …. This is not a story, a true real life story!!!

This smart nurse started her career in 1991 after completing a three and a half year Nursing course. April 2014, her life has changed with the diagnosis of Right breast cancer which she managed to recognise by Breast Self Examination….and underwent mastectomy and biopsy showed Duct Carcinoma in situ. Everyone relieved as it is non spreadable and doesn't require further chemotherapy or radiotherapy. She recovered well after surgery with full of positivity and family has to restrict her as she was keen to return to work just after a month of her surgery. She always kept her smile on her face and remained on good spirits….
After 3 months of surgery she returned back to her job and continued her excellent service alongside all the reviews and follow up appointments. After 3 months of rejoining she studied Dialysis and started job in Dialysis Unit of the same hospital.
As life continued without much health issues 2020 the villain covid 19 pandemic started!! Was she scared to go to work , no never !! She worked all through the pandemic but 2022 January 31st covid decided to play with her , but she might be one of the fortunate or lucky to have covid as test leads to the diagnosis of another cancer Thymoma( A tumour in thymus gland), thank you covid , otherwise this would have been unnoticed… During the time with covid she had persistent tachycardia which lead to further investigations and concluded with the diagnosis. Here we go again!!! Tension, worries , sleepless nights , Decision making, waiting …. experienced all the difficulties but our brave nurse never gave up, she hold her faith and trust in God tight and moved forward with positivity and optimism. God has gone before her and prepared the path for her to go and underwent Video assisted thoracoscopic thymectomy (lasted over 5 hours) successfully. Thank you #KarkinosHealthCare for excellent support and treatment your team has provided for her. Her determination and positive attitude made her recovery easier. Biopsy report showed again Benign Thymoma, how lucky again you darling angel !!! (Roman 8:28 - And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose).
This super hero nurse again joined back to the work after 3 months post surgery and continuing her hard work….. But the medical terminologies still being added under her medical history - Autoimmune hemolytic anaemia, fall and fractured arm , now being under investigation again as her little scary friend decided to lover her again but I knew you are still going to fight and conquer it and you overcame lovely…
You are not alone in this war, we the family and our prayers will strengthen you and you are the most strongest woman I have ever known and proud to be your little sister…. Later on we realised Gid has chosen her to be treated by the amazing oncologist Aju Mat (Dr. Aju Mathew) whose expertise supported not only her but also few others from our circle later on 🙏🙏🙏

The courage that takes you one moment to another says a lot about you as a person. Sending thoughts and prayers on your way on this world cancer day. You will never know how strong you are until your only option is to be strong. May God guide us well in our vulnerable days.

Battling cancer is hard, but the support of family and friends can make the process a lot easier. Cancer is strong, but you are the strongest!!!
I know it’s easy to wonder why this is happening to you. I don’t know why either. But I’m honored to be able to support you in this difficult, challenging journey toward wellness. No matter how long it takes, I’m here for you and all our family along with your lovely friends and amazing colleagues… You’re one of the toughest people I know. No matter what life has thrown at you, you’ve always found a way to recover with humor and strength. I know you have what it takes to tackle cancer with that same attitude. I know it’s still scary and frustrating, though. But you never lost your smile…

You’re a superhero without Cape in my eyes. You’re so strong and brave. Even though you’ve had a rollercoaster of emotions in your life for the past year, you still find the strength to smile. You inspire me to be a braver person each and every day! 💐💐💗💗🙏🥰🥰 Now you are enhancing my medical knowledge because new new terminologies being added to your precious medical history. If I am not learning first how can I reassure you first and our rest of the family?

Cancer is not a disease of one person disease, instead it is a plight of whole family. Sending lots of prayers to all the cancer patients and their loved ones on this cancer day. Let's take a moment to think about those who are still battling and send them our support with a message or wish.🙏🙏🙏

Being aware of potential cancer symptoms and attending screening appointments can save your life. Make sure you know your body and notice and identify changes happening in your body, early detection can cure the disease… Each cancer patient’s journey is unique. #UnitedByUnique 🙏🙏
